Ziro
2026 | Online
Ziro is a web-based digital artwork that renders the current time as a binary clock: six columns of light and dark dots reading hours, minutes, and seconds in binary. A field of white noise runs beneath it as ambient counterpart – silence rendered audible, on or off, the substrate against which the signal becomes legible.
White noise is the work’s silence, not its soundtrack. A flat, unbroken field — the audible analogue of a page made entirely of zeros and ones. It is the substrate against which any signal becomes legible. Turn it off and the room returns; turn it on and the room recedes. The work proceeds either way.
