Is it possible to be among people and feel lonely at the same time?
The performer wearing a gas mask has a very limited field of vision. He is in a public place, however, he doesn’t see other people. He only sees a small space in front of his eyes. While being among people he experiences the feeling of loneliness and isolation — the feeling that is well-known by lots of people who live in a modern world.
When the only thing he has is a space in front of him, he does his best to clean this space. To clean it from dust, pigeon shit, traces of environmental disasters and collective narrow-mindedness.
The performance was done at the International Festival of Performing and Spatial Arts “Territories”. The festival’s title refers to the community territory understood as a mental space, i.e. filled with emotions and memories, senses and meanings. It is also a space saturated with personal and collective places of memory, consolidating the link between the imagination community and the territory of shared living and identical heritage.
